Utilizing film, photography and installation this project presents a fictional portrait of the artist’s father Rune. Working as a carpenter near the end of his career, Rune starts to experience visual hallucinations and a scattered view of reality that have consequences for his work and sense of self.
The project takes its departure from the fascinating condition called Charles Bonnet Syndrome (CBS), which is a visual deficit where people who undergo significant loss of vision can experience vivid hallucinations produced by the optic nerve.

Undersyn (Vision of wonder) presents a fictional portrait of the filmmaker’s father Rune, a carpenter nearing the end of his career. Rune starts to experience visual hallucinations and a scattered view of reality that have consequences for his work and sense of self. The film in its hybrid form explores possible intersections of experimental documentary, abstract film and fake-fiction.
