Artist and filmmaker Aleksander Johan Andreassen (b.1982, Bodø, Norway) lives in Oslo, Norway.
I collaborate and initiate projects with family and other non-artists, and a variety of performers, choreographers, filmmakers, writers, and other artists. In my work I try to develop project specific methods that produce critical perspectives on standardized methods. My work moves between subjective narratives and abstraction merging the phantasmic and mundane, and the playful and sincere. I mindfully assemblage fiction with documentary to structure a displacement that can comment on our challenges with normality, belongingness, mind-body dualism, and the human-nature relationship. In recent years I have focused on exploring these subjects through forms of stagings in public and semi-public spaces.
